Erie awarded for Highest Customer Satisfaction

J.D. Power and Associates announced that ERIE had received its award for “Highest in Customer Satisfaction with the Auto Insurance Purchase Experience.”

This award recognizes ERIE’s top ranking in J.D. Power and Associates’ 2013 Insurance Shopping Study. It’s an impressive honor that demonstrates our performance in meeting Customers’ expectations when it comes to shopping for auto insurance.

Superior performance in 2013

This is the fourth time ERIE has received this award since J.D. Power and Associates began the annual shopping study in 2007. In all years, however, we’ve been among the top tier insurers receiving the highest level of satisfaction. This year, ERIE received 854 out of a possible 1,000 points. Our score represents an 18-point increase over the 2012 study. The industry average in 2013 was 828 with no change over last year.

Study significance

The Insurance Shopping Study provides a detailed look at the Customer experience in shopping for auto insurance. It explores what prompts a consumer to shop for insurance and which factors contribute to the purchase decision. Three factors are measured to determine overall satisfaction – and ERIE performed well across each:

·         Price – Customer perception of policy premium compared to the value received

·         Distribution channel – Examines each channel a Customer may use to purchase their auto policy; for ERIE, a local Agent

·         Policy offerings – Customer perception of their new policy
